Masculine Card Makes

Hi all, today I would like to share a Masculine themed card with you. Although I did specifically design this card for male recipients, it is not so overly male to exclude female recipients.

As I designed this card I wanted to keep two things in mind:

1: To be quite flat for posting, as postage costs in the UK can become quite expensive for thicker or unusual sized cards;

2: To be easy to produce in bulk with out being over simplified.

So here is the finished result:

It is essentially a one layer card as the main panel is adhered with glue, so lies flat. Making the panel smaller than the base however gives a good illusion of depth.

To add some detail, I scored all four sides at a half inch which adds further depth and a border.

The edges of the panel were highlighted with a deep orange ink to co-ordinate with the overall colour scheme: Green with Orange on a Cream base.

I then added the layers of washi tape and a sentiment banner. I used Tuxedo Black Memento ink to stamp the sentiment which is from an ‘Avery Elle’ set. The Orange splatter effect is a stamp by Stampin’ Up!, from a set called ‘Gorgeous Grunge’ and the Globe is from a set called ‘Going Global’, also by Stampin’ Up! As always I decorated both the card interior plus the envelope:

The interior stamped Globe is a stamp from a set by Tim Holtz.

I hope that this design gives you some ideas and as always please ask any question you may have. Below are the rest of the project photographs showing more details.

Take care and Happy crafting,

Jenny 🙂

  2. That’s a great Jennifer. Easily reproducible to create many at once. Male cards are so hard to do too. I love all the little details with the embossed lines and the washi. 🙂

    Love the card! I always have trouble making masculine cards (might have to do with my largely floral and pastel collection of craft supplies xD).
