Best Friend Butterfly Cards – Die cutting

Hi there and welcome to JenniferRabbitCreates!

Today I would like to share a pair of cards I made using a strip border die. Now I have a thing about butterflies – in fact I love them!…… actually I think that feeling can be applied to most winged creatures lol, ( except Daddy long-legs!).

Delightful duo of crafty card makes.

I wanted to make two cards, each using a different colour palette. I knew that I wanted to use this particular die and that I wanted to layer them with an aperture effect,  the coloured paper peeking through:

Spring pinks and party banners.

Aqua blue and peeking polka dots.

The sentiment stamp that I used is from a Stampin’ Up! set; The punches are also from Stampin’ Up!, including the larger Butterfly punch.

The patterned paper shows through the apertures made by the butterfly strip die.

An extra layer of a punched paper piece for added dimension.

On the above aqua card, I added an extra punched piece to cover up the embossing that did not work. I originally used a Distress Embossing powder for the sentiment, but it did not seem to work so well with this smaller detailed stamp. I layered the larger punch out over it and then used a Stampin’ up! embossing powder instead. As this is a fine powder, it worked with this script writing really well.

I hope that you have enjoyed this share for today, any questions please ask 🙂

Take care and Happy Crafting!!
