Thrifty Friday Crafting Tips – Budget Buys

Hi all, I’m hoping that you are having a good week 🙂

Today I am going to share with you one of my favourite places to get craft supplies: Pound stores 🙂

I love looking around pound shops for all dorts of things to use in my crafting endeavours.  My reason for this is quite simple- to save some cash 🙂
If I can save some money by buying what I can from pound or discount shops, it frees up extra money for the things that cost more, or are from specialist shops.

I look for adhesives, plain papers, embellishments,  foam tape, foam shapes. I also look at picture frames,  candles, plain fabric napkins, anything decorative that I can alter and decorate to make into one of a kind gifts.

Plain diaries can be customized for a specific person, as can notebooks.  Plain candles can be put into a handmade box or wrapped with ribbons etc. Notecard sets can be used as a base to add more detail to and envelopes purchased can be used for mini albums.
A good example from my own experience? Finding chamois leather cloths snd sewing them together to make a soft cushion 🙂
So next time you can, pop into a pound shop and take a good look around.  Remember to “think outside the box and to save the box for later!”
Take care and Happy crafting :)!!
