As I have mentioned in my About Me section, I love all different types of Art and Craft.
I resolved for new year that I would teach myself to Crochet. So I watched some clips on YouTube, which, although I found helpful, I needed more basic yet in-depth instructions as a complete novice.
I therefore armed myself with a beginners instruction book, a set of crochet hooks from e-bay and some cheap wool to practise with.
Now of all the things that I thought that I might find difficult with crochet – hand placement, new stitches, following a pattern etc.- I didn’t think for one second that I would have problems with counting lol! Seriously, I dropped end stitches continuously until my practise rectangles became practise triangles 🙂
It wasn’t long though before all of these components to crochet became formed habits and the above is an example of my first project. I used simple grey yarn/wool with white accents and I even crocheted the flower embellishment.
I am very pleased that I have achieved what I set myself a challenge to do. As a bonus I have learned that even if I am having a day where my back pain is too much for other craft types, all I need to do is fetch my crochet bag and away I go! Smiles all around 🙂
